Investing.com – Taiwan equities were lower at the close on Wednesday, as losses in the , Other and Information Services sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Taiwan, the Taiwan Weighted lost 0.15%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Taiwan Weighted were E-Lead Elec (TW:2497), which rose 9.97% or 3.60 points to trade at 39.70 at the close. Sun Yad Tech (TW:1316) added 9.92% or 2.35 points to end at 26.05 and EZconn Corp (TW:6442) was up 9.88% or 5.00 points to 55.60 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Sumagh High-Te (TW:1475), which lost 9.12% or 1.25 points to trade at 12.45 in late trade. Lung Hwa Eltrs (TW:2424) declined 6.96% or 2.40 points to end at 32.10 and Advanced Optoelectronic Tech (TW:3437) shed 6.91% or 2.15 points to 28.95.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 521 to 281 and 79 ended unchanged on the Taiwan Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for May delivery was up 0.19% or 0.10 to $53.50 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in June rose 0.21% or 0.12 to hit $56.35 a barrel, while the June Gold Futures contract rose 0.21% or 2.65 to trade at $1276.85 a troy ounce.
USD/TWD was down 0.25% to 30.566, while TWD/CNY rose 0.13% to 0.2253.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.06% at 100.57.
