Investing.com – Taiwan equities were lower at the close on Wednesday, as losses in the , Electricity and Auto sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Taiwan, the Taiwan Weighted declined 1.30%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Taiwan Weighted were Young Optics Inc (TW:3504), which rose 10.00% or 10.50 points to trade at 115.50 at the close. Mospec Semiconductor Corp (TW:2434) added 10.00% or 1.40 points to end at 15.40 and HannsTouch Solution Inc (TW:3049) was up 9.97% or 0.79 points to 8.71 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Airtac International Group (TW:1590), which lost 5.10% or 27.00 points to trade at 502.00 in late trade. Yageo Corp (TW:2327) declined 5.05% or 55.00 points to end at 1035.00 and Micro-Star International Co Ltd (TW:2377) shed 4.72% or 6.00 points to 121.00.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 573 to 247 and 93 ended unchanged on the Taiwan Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for July delivery was up 0.03% or 0.02 to $66.75 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in August fell 0.16% or 0.12 to hit $75.37 a barrel, while the June Gold Futures contract fell 0.18% or 2.30 to trade at $1296.70 a troy ounce.
USD/TWD was down 0.15% to 30.023, while TWD/CNY rose 0.66% to 0.2146.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.35% at 94.48.
