Investing.com – Taiwan equities were higher at the close on Monday, as gains in the Information Services, Other Electronic and Computers & Peripherals sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Taiwan, the Taiwan Weighted rose 0.50% to hit a new all time high.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Taiwan Weighted were Enlight Corp (TW:2438), which rose 9.99% or 0.83 points to trade at 9.14 at the close. Chilisin Elec (TW:2456) added 9.98% or 8.10 points to end at 89.30 and Goodway (TW:1583) was up 9.97% or 6.00 points to 66.20 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Pihsiang (TW:1729), which lost 9.94% or 2.35 points to trade at 21.30 in late trade. Pec (TW:4916) declined 9.01% or 3.10 points to end at 31.30 and Chenming Mold (TW:3013) shed 6.96% or 1.60 points to 21.40.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 439 to 346 and 89 ended unchanged on the Taiwan Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for June delivery was up 1.73% or 0.83 to $48.67 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in July rose 1.63% or 0.83 to hit $51.67 a barrel, while the June Gold Futures contract rose 0.32% or 3.98 to trade at $1231.68 a troy ounce.
USD/TWD was down 0.27% to 30.107, while TWD/CNY rose 0.04% to 0.2297.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.05% at 99.00.
