Investing.com – Russia stocks were lower after the close on Monday, as losses in the Telecoms, Power and Manufacturing sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Moscow, the MICEX fell 0.05%.
The best performers of the session on the MICEX were Yandex NV (MCX:YNDX), which rose 3.94% or 32.00 points to trade at 845.00 at the close. Meanwhile, AK Transneft OAO Pref (MCX:TRNF_p) added 3.64% or 5300 points to end at 151000 and PhosAgro ao (MCX:PHOR) was up 2.84% or 70.0 points to 2531.0 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Uralkaliy (MCX:URKA), which fell 8.93% or 15.65 points to trade at 159.70 at the close. Sberbank Rossii OAO Pref (MCX:SBER_p) declined 3.22% or 2.19 points to end at 65.80 and AFK Sistema (MCX:AFKS) was down 2.27% or 0.420 points to 18.050.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Moscow Stock Exchange by 113 to 92 and 9 ended unchanged.
The Russian VIX, which measures the implied volatility of MICEX options, was down 1.26% to 33.740.
Gold for December delivery was down 0.93% or 11.00 to $1172.10 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in December fell 2.45% or 1.17 to hit $46.55 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract fell 2.71% or 1.36 to trade at $49.09 a barrel.
USD/RUB was up 1.42% to 62.125, while EUR/RUB rose 0.32% to 70.340.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.20% at 94.95.
