Investing.com – Russia equities were lower at the close on Friday, as losses in the Oil & Gas, Telecoms and Manufacturing sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Moscow, the MICEX lost 0.50% to hit a new 1-month low.
The biggest gainers of the session on the MICEX were Tatneft OAO Pref (MCX:TATN_p), which rose 3.22% or 6.00 points to trade at 192.10 at the close. AFK Sistema (MCX:AFKS) added 1.28% or 0.260 points to end at 20.510 and E.ON Rossiya OAO (MCX:UPRO) was up 1.18% or 0.0320 points to 2.7370 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Bashneft ANK ao (MCX:BANE), which lost 6.37% or 197.5 points to trade at 2902.5 in late trade. ANK Bashneft OAO Pref (MCX:BANE_p) declined 4.41% or 65.0 points to end at 1410.0 and AK Transneft OAO Pref (MCX:TRNF_p) shed 2.54% or 3700 points to 142200.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 137 to 89 and 25 ended unchanged on the Moscow Stock Exchange.
The Russian VIX, which measures the implied volatility of MICEX options, was down 0.28% to 24.920.
In commodities trading, Gold for December delivery was down 0.07% or 0.85 to $1256.75 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in November fell 0.59% or 0.30 to hit $50.14 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract fell 0.56% or 0.29 to trade at $51.74 a barrel.
USD/RUB was down 0.02% to 63.0185, while EUR/RUB fell 0.70% to 69.271.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.40% at 97.92.
