Investing.com – Russia equities were lower at the close on Friday, as losses in the Oil & Gas, Power and Manufacturing sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Moscow, the MICEX fell 0.08%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the MICEX were PhosAgro ao (MCX:PHOR), which rose 2.86% or 72.0 points to trade at 2589.0 at the close. GidroOGK-011D (MCX:HYDR) added 2.82% or 0.0175 points to end at 0.6375 and Severstal - ao (MCX:CHMF) was up 2.64% or 18.80 points to 730.00 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Surgut-pref (MCX:SNGS_p), which lost 13.04% or 5.400 points to trade at 36.000 in late trade. Inter rao ees (MCX:IRAO) declined 3.32% or 0.0905 points to end at 2.6350 and FSK EES (MCX:FEES) shed 2.17% or 0.0032 points to 0.1455.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 114 to 98 and 23 ended unchanged on the Moscow Stock Exchange.
The Russian VIX, which measures the implied volatility of MICEX options, was down 0.36% to 32.810.
In commodities trading, Gold for August delivery was down 0.10% or 1.35 to $1330.85 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in August rose 0.35% or 0.16 to hit $45.84 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract rose 0.40% or 0.19 to trade at $47.56 a barrel.
USD/RUB was up 0.97% to 63.4331, while EUR/RUB rose 0.35% to 70.171.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.56% at 96.64.
