Investing.com – Russia equities were lower at the close on Friday, as losses in the Oil & Gas, Mining and Manufacturing sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Moscow, the MICEX declined 0.01%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the MICEX were FSK EES (MCX:FEES), which rose 3.60% or 0.0039 points to trade at 0.1120 at the close. MTS (MCX:MTSS) added 2.14% or 5.40 points to end at 258.00 and NOVATEK (MCX:NVTK) was up 1.85% or 11.90 points to 654.50 in late trade.
Biggest losers included ALROSA ao (MCX:ALRS), which lost 3.87% or 2.960 points to trade at 73.590 in late trade. ANK Bashneft OAO Pref (MCX:BANE_p) declined 3.29% or 68.0 points to end at 2002.0 and Lenta Ltd (MCX:LNTA) shed 2.83% or 12 points to 429.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 115 to 107 and 18 ended unchanged on the Moscow Stock Exchange.
The Russian VIX, which measures the implied volatility of MICEX options, was down 0.85% to 34.790.
In commodities trading, Gold for June delivery was down 0.29% or 3.60 to $1251.20 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in July fell 0.18% or 0.09 to hit $48.58 a barrel, while the July Brent oil contract fell 0.04% or 0.02 to trade at $48.79 a barrel.
USD/RUB was down 0.02% to 66.7647, while EUR/RUB rose 0.10% to 74.854.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.13% at 95.42.
