Investing.com – Russia equities were higher at the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Power, Manufacturing and Mining sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Moscow, the MICEX gained 0.53% to hit a new all time high.
The biggest gainers of the session on the MICEX were FSK EES (MCX:FEES), which rose 4.17% or 0.0065 points to trade at 0.1618 at the close. PIK (MCX:PIKK) added 2.71% or 7.00 points to end at 265.00 and Aeroflot (MCX:AFLT) was up 2.69% or 2.23 points to 85.18 in late trade.
Biggest losers included MVideo (MCX:MVID), which lost 2.05% or 7.30 points to trade at 349.40 in late trade. Ros Agro PLC (MCX:AGRODR) declined 1.68% or 16 points to end at 939 and E.ON Rossiya OAO (MCX:UPRO) shed 1.53% or 0.0440 points to 2.8300.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 119 to 98 and 22 ended unchanged on the Moscow Stock Exchange.
The Russian VIX, which measures the implied volatility of MICEX options, was down 0.23% to 25.520.
In commodities trading, Gold for December delivery was up 0.03% or 0.35 to $1343.75 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in October rose 0.91% or 0.43 to hit $47.84 a barrel, while the October Brent oil contract rose 1.20% or 0.59 to trade at $49.75 a barrel.
USD/RUB was down 0.52% to 64.4750, while EUR/RUB fell 0.62% to 72.919.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.03% at 94.49.
