Investing.com – Russia equities were higher at the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Oil & Gas, Telecoms and Manufacturing sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Moscow, the MICEX gained 0.01%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the MICEX were AK Transneft OAO Pref (MCX:TRNF_p), which rose 3.10% or 4900 points to trade at 162900 at the close. GidroOGK-011D (MCX:HYDR) added 2.09% or 0.0145 points to end at 0.7080 and MVideo (MCX:MVID) was up 1.90% or 6.00 points to 321.90 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Magnit (MCX:MGNT), which lost 4.34% or 455.0 points to trade at 10020.0 in late trade. NLMK ao (MCX:NLMK) declined 2.92% or 2.73 points to end at 90.80 and Inter rao ees (MCX:IRAO) shed 1.63% or 0.0430 points to 2.5970.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 123 to 103 and 22 ended unchanged on the Moscow Stock Exchange.
The Russian VIX, which measures the implied volatility of MICEX options, was up 0.15% to 26.980.
In commodities trading, Gold for December delivery was up 0.37% or 4.95 to $1333.25 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in September fell 2.33% or 1.00 to hit $41.92 a barrel, while the October Brent oil contract fell 2.52% or 1.14 to trade at $44.09 a barrel.
USD/RUB was up 0.52% to 66.2889, while EUR/RUB rose 0.62% to 72.875.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.13% at 97.30.
