Investing.com – Portugal stocks were lower after the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Financials, Basic Materials and Industrials sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 fell 2.11%.
The best performers of the session on the PSI 20 were Semapa (LS:SEM), which rose 0.20% or 0.0250 points to trade at 12.6650 at the close. Meanwhile, Nos SGPS SA (LS:NOS) fell 0.20% or 0.0150 points to end at 7.4530 and Teixeira Duarte (LS:TDSA) was down 0.23% or 0.0010 points to 0.4350 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Banif SA (LS:BANIF), which fell 11.54% or 0.0003 points to trade at 0.0023 at the close. Pharol SGPS SA (LS:PHRA) declined 7.07% or 0.0270 points to end at 0.3550 and Banco Comercial Portugues (LS:BCP) was down 4.38% or 0.0022 points to 0.0480.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Lisbon Stock Exchange by 41 to 10 and 2 ended unchanged.
Shares in Banif SA (LS:BANIF) fell to all time lows; down 11.54% or 0.0003 to 0.0023.
Brent oil for December delivery was down 1.80% or 0.85 to $46.69 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in December fell 2.27% or 1.00 to hit $42.98 a barrel, while the December Gold contract fell 0.03% or 0.30 to trade at $1165.90 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.15% to 1.1040, while EUR/GBP rose 0.17% to 0.7214.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.10% at 97.01.
