Investing.com – Portugal stocks were lower after the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Consumer Services, Industrials and Technology sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 lost 0.33% to hit a new 1-month low.
The best performers of the session on the PSI 20 were Pharol SGPS SA (LS:PHRA), which rose 3.57% or 0.0130 points to trade at 0.3770 at the close. Meanwhile, Banco BPI (LS:BBPI) added 1.96% or 0.0200 points to end at 1.0420 and Portucel (LS:PTI) was up 1.67% or 0.0620 points to 3.7770 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Banif SA (LS:BANIF), which fell 8.00% or 0.0002 points to trade at 0.0023 at the close. Sonae (LS:YSO) declined 2.18% or 0.0230 points to end at 1.0340 and Banco Comercial Portugues (LS:BCP) was down 1.89% or 0.0009 points to 0.0468.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Lisbon Stock Exchange by 34 to 20 and 1 ended unchanged.
Brent oil for January delivery was up 0.40% or 0.19 to $48.11 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in December rose 1.09% or 0.48 to hit $44.35 a barrel, while the December Gold contract rose 0.12% or 1.30 to trade at $1089.40 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.53% to 1.0695, while EUR/GBP fell 0.48% to 0.7079.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.33% at 99.44.
