Investing.com – Portugal stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in the Telecoms, Basic Materials and Financials sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 gained 2.05%.
The best performers of the session on the PSI 20 were Pharol SGPS SA (LISBON:PHRA), which rose 16.48% or 0.0435 points to trade at 0.3075 at the close. Meanwhile, Altri SGPS (LISBON:ALSS) added 4.98% or 0.1780 points to end at 3.7510 and Semapa (LISBON:SEM) was up 4.40% or 0.5525 points to 13.1175 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Impresa SGPS (LISBON:IMPA), which fell 0.65% or 0.01 points to trade at 0.77 at the close. EDP Renovaveis (LISBON:EDPRu) added 0.16% or 0.0100 points to end at 6.3810 and Teixeira Duarte (LISBON:TDSA) was up 0.20% or 0.0010 points to 0.5090.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Lisbon Stock Exchange by 58 to 11 and 1 ended unchanged.
Brent oil for October delivery was down 1.43% or 0.72 to $49.46 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in September fell 2.75% or 1.19 to hit $42.11 a barrel, while the December Gold contract fell 0.70% or 7.90 to trade at $1115.70 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.21% to 1.1135, while EUR/GBP fell 0.09% to 0.7140.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.24% at 96.51.
