Investing.com – Netherlands equities were lower at the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Healthcare, Financials and Basic Materials sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX fell 0.64%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the AEX were ASML Holding NV (AS:ASML), which rose 0.86% or 1.05 points to trade at 122.70 at the close. Koninklijke Boskalis Westminster NV (AS:BOSN) added 0.76% or 0.23 points to end at 29.91 and Unibail Rodamco SE (AS:UNBP) was up 0.61% or 1.30 points to 215.75 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Aegon NV (AS:AEGN), which lost 2.91% or 0.139 points to trade at 4.631 in late trade. ING Groep NV (AS:INGA) declined 1.41% or 0.220 points to end at 15.425 and Koninklijke Philips NV (AS:PHG) shed 1.31% or 0.41 points to 31.32.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 78 to 44 and 13 ended unchanged on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange.
The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was up 9.94% to 11.90.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for August delivery was up 0.54% or 0.25 to $46.27 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in September rose 0.64% or 0.31 to hit $48.73 a barrel, while the August Gold Futures contract rose 0.61% or 7.55 to trade at $1241.25 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.76% to 1.1565, while EUR/GBP rose 0.83% to 0.8864.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.55% at 94.40.
