Investing.com – Netherlands equities were higher at the close on Friday, as gains in the Financials, Basic Materials and Industrials sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX gained 1.75%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the AEX were ING Groep NV (AS:ING), which rose 5.69% or 0.491 points to trade at 9.121 at the close. ArcelorMittal SA (AS:ISPA) added 5.33% or 0.226 points to end at 4.469 and Aegon (AS:AEGN) was up 4.49% or 0.142 points to 3.302 in late trade.
Biggest losers included KPN Kon (AS:KPN), which added 0.19% or 0.006 points to trade at 3.112 in late trade. Unilever NV (AS:UNc) added 0.41% or 0.17 points to end at 41.86 and Relx NV (AS:RELN) gained 0.55% or 0.085 points to 15.620.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 136 to 25 and 13 ended unchanged on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange.
The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was down 7.72% to 20.74 a new 1-month low.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for August delivery was up 0.29% or 0.13 to $45.27 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in September rose 0.47% or 0.22 to hit $46.62 a barrel, while the August Gold contract fell 0.42% or 5.70 to trade at $1356.40 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.16% to 1.1046, while EUR/GBP fell 0.41% to 0.8533.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.08% at 96.41.
