Investing.com – Netherlands equities were higher at the close on Friday, as gains in the Consumer Goods, Oil & Gas and Financials sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX gained 0.68%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the AEX were Aegon (AS:AEGN), which rose 2.40% or 0.122 points to trade at 5.200 at the close. Heineken (AS:HEIN) added 2.04% or 1.44 points to end at 71.95 and ING Groep NV (AS:INGA) was up 1.43% or 0.195 points to 13.810 in late trade.
Biggest losers included ArcelorMittal SA (AS:ISPA), which lost 2.29% or 0.173 points to trade at 7.371 in late trade. Gemalto (AS:GTO) declined 0.87% or 0.47 points to end at 53.78 and SBM Offshore (AS:SBMO) shed 0.27% or 0.04 points to 14.66.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 94 to 39 and 6 ended unchanged on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange.
The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was down 6.96% to 13.71.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for March delivery was up 0.60% or 0.32 to $53.86 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in April rose 0.69% or 0.39 to hit $56.95 a barrel, while the April Gold Futures contract rose 0.14% or 1.75 to trade at $1221.15 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.22% to 1.0783, while EUR/GBP rose 0.34% to 0.8616.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.20% at 99.63.
