Investing.com – Netherlands equities were higher at the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Financials, Oil & Gas and Telecoms sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX rose 0.19%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the AEX were DSM Kon (AS:DSMN), which rose 2.30% or 1.20 points to trade at 53.36 at the close. Philips Kon (AS:PHG) added 1.68% or 0.41 points to end at 24.48 and ABN AMRO Group NV (AS:ABNd) was up 1.37% or 0.26 points to 18.90 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Randstad (AS:RAND), which lost 2.21% or 1.05 points to trade at 46.60 in late trade. SBM Offshore (AS:SBMO) declined 1.60% or 0.18 points to end at 11.36 and Akzo Nobel (AS:AKZO) shed 0.93% or 0.59 points to 62.71.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 84 to 72 and 20 ended unchanged on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange.
The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was down 3.13% to 19.55.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for June delivery was up 3.24% or 1.38 to $44.02 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in July rose 3.00% or 1.33 to hit $45.65 a barrel, while the June Gold contract rose 0.23% or 2.85 to trade at $1243.05 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.35% to 1.1307, while EUR/GBP fell 0.48% to 0.7743.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.33% at 94.43.
