Investing.com – Netherlands equities were higher at the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Healthcare, Industrials and Financials sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX gained 0.11%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the AEX were Galapagos NV (AS:GLPG), which rose 1.85% or 1.210 points to trade at 66.640 at the close. Boskalis Westmin (AS:BOSN) added 1.39% or 0.47 points to end at 34.40 and SBM Offshore (AS:SBMO) was up 1.36% or 0.20 points to 14.52 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Aalberts Industries (AS:AALB), which lost 2.37% or 0.79 points to trade at 32.56 in late trade. ArcelorMittal SA (AS:ISPA) declined 1.22% or 0.103 points to end at 8.310 and ASML Holding (AS:ASML) shed 0.78% or 0.90 points to 114.45.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 71 to 52 and 14 ended unchanged on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange.
The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was up 1.88% to 14.85.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for April delivery was down 1.48% or 0.80 to $53.25 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in May fell 1.38% or 0.78 to hit $55.64 a barrel, while the April Gold Futures contract fell 0.07% or 0.85 to trade at $1257.95 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.30% to 1.0618, while EUR/GBP rose 0.42% to 0.8545.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.26% at 100.88.
