Investing.com – Morocco equities were higher at the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Chemicals, Insurance and Holding Companies sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Casablanca, the Moroccan All Shares added 1.38% to hit a new 5-year high.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Moroccan All Shares were Snep (CS:SNP), which rose 8.70% or 20.00 points to trade at 250.00 at the close. Fenie Brossette (CS:FBR) added 7.21% or 6.39 points to end at 94.99 and Wafa Assurance (CS:WASS) was up 6.16% or 290 points to 5000 in late trade.
Biggest losers included BMCI (CS:BMCI), which lost 5.48% or 35 points to trade at 604 in late trade. Lydec (CS:LYD) declined 5.28% or 31.50 points to end at 565.00 and CDM (CS:CDM) shed 5.19% or 27 points to 493.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 31 to 21 and 4 ended unchanged on the Casablanca Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for February delivery was down 1.00% or 0.52 to $51.44 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in March fell 1.29% or 0.71 to hit $54.23 a barrel, while the February Gold contract rose 0.22% or 2.60 to trade at $1187.50 a troy ounce.
EUR/MAD was down 0.02% to 10.6800, while USD/MAD rose 0.14% to 10.1015.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.01% at 101.91.
