Investing.com – Mexico equities were higher at the close on Thursday, as gains in the Materials, Financial Services and Telecoms Services sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Mexico, the IPC rose 2.23% to hit a new 1-month high.
The biggest gainers of the session on the IPC were Grupo Financiero Inbursa , SAB De CV (MX:GFINBURO), which rose 4.75% or 1.480 points to trade at 32.640 at the close. Grupo Financiero Banorte (MX:GFNORTEO) added 4.22% or 4.330 points to end at 106.900 and Cemex SAB de CV (MX:CMXCPO) was up 4.01% or 0.590 points to 15.320 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Bolsa Mexicana De Valores SAB De CV (MX:BOLSAA), which lost 1.59% or 0.500 points to trade at 31.000 in late trade. Grupo LALA SA de CV (MX:LALAB) declined 1.54% or 0.61 points to end at 38.89 and Genomma Lab Internacional SAB De CV (MX:LABB) shed 0.49% or 0.100 points to 20.360.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 141 to 31 and 12 ended unchanged on the Mexico Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for December delivery was up 0.71% or 9.45 to $1340.85 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in November rose 1.70% or 0.77 to hit $46.11 a barrel, while the November Brent oil contract rose 1.49% or 0.70 to trade at $47.53 a barrel.
USD/MXN was down 0.51% to 19.6448, while EUR/MXN fell 0.35% to 22.0174.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.13% at 95.34.
