Investing.com – Finland equities were lower at the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Basic Materials, Healthcare and Consumer Goods sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Helsinki, the OMX Helsinki 25 lost 1.51% to hit a new 3-month low.
The biggest gainers of the session on the OMX Helsinki 25 were Huhtamaki Oyj (HE:HUH1V), which rose 2.22% or 0.71 points to trade at 32.76 at the close. Sampo Oyj A (HE:SAMPO) added 0.57% or 0.26 points to end at 46.17 and Metso Oyj (HE:METSO) was up 0.40% or 0.11 points to 27.93 in late trade.
Biggest losers included UPM-Kymmene Oyj (HE:UPM), which lost 7.40% or 1.88 points to trade at 23.52 in late trade. Outokumpu Oyj (HE:OUT1V) declined 6.46% or 0.4700 points to end at 6.8100 and Outotec Oyj (HE:OTE1V) shed 4.00% or 0.250 points to 5.995.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 106 to 33 and 15 ended unchanged on the Helsinki Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for September delivery was up 3.07% or 1.49 to $50.09 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in September rose 3.28% or 1.52 to hit $47.86 a barrel, while the August Gold Futures contract fell 0.32% or 4.04 to trade at $1250.26 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.09% to 1.1654, while EUR/GBP rose 0.02% to 0.8939.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.02% at 93.84.
