Investing.com – United Arab Emirates equities were mixed at the close on Monday, as gains in the Services, Banking and Telecoms sectors propelled shares higher while losses in the Insurance, Transport and Finance & Investment sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Dubai, the DFM General added 0.11%, while the ADX General index lost 0.41%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the DFM General were Gulf Navigation Holding PJSC (DU:GNAV), which rose 5.56% or 0.080 points to trade at 1.520 at the close. Amanat Holdings PJSC (DU:AMANT) added 1.82% or 0.020 points to end at 1.120 and Emaar Malls (DU:EMAA) was up 1.56% or 0.040 points to 2.600 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Arabtec Holding PJSC (DU:ARTC), which lost 5.18% or 0.041 points to trade at 0.751 in late trade. Drake & Scull International PJSC (DU:DSI) declined 3.83% or 0.014 points to end at 0.352 and Takaful Emarat PSC (DU:TKFE) shed 3.46% or 0.080 points to 2.230.
The top performers on the ADX General were Rak Ceramics (AD:RKCE) which rose 8.33% to 2.600, Ad Shipbldg Co (AD:ADSB) which was up 2.27% to settle at 2.700 and Waha Capital (AD:WAHA) which gained 0.57% to close at 1.760.
The worst performers were National Corp Tourism Hotels (AD:NCTH) which was down 9.26% to 2.45 in late trade, Gulf Cement Co (AD:GCEM) which lost 5.10% to settle at 0.9300 and Abu Dhabi National for Building Materials Co PJSC (AD:BILD) which was down 5.08% to 0.560 at the close.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 17 to 16 and 5 ended unchanged; on the Abu Dhabi, 20 fell and 5 advanced, while 5 ended unchanged on the Dubai Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for July delivery was up 0.77% or 0.39 to $51.06 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in July rose 0.76% or 0.41 to hit $54.02 a barrel, while the June Gold Futures contract rose 0.17% or 2.17 to trade at $1255.77 a troy ounce.
USD/AED was up 0.01% to 3.6732, while EUR/AED rose 0.20% to 4.1248.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.07% at 96.93.
