Investing.com – United Arab Emirates equities were lower at the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Finance & Investment, Real Estate & Construction and Services sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Dubai, the DFM General lost 0.74%, while the ADX General index lost 0.18%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the DFM General were SHUAA Capital PSC (DU:SHUA), which rose 2.78% or 0.021 points to trade at 0.776 at the close. Gulf Navigation Holding PJSC (DU:GNAV) added 1.71% or 0.020 points to end at 1.190 and Takaful Emarat PSC (DU:TKFE) was up 1.03% or 0.030 points to 2.930 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Dubai Financial Market PJSC (DU:DFM), which lost 2.90% or 0.040 points to trade at 1.340 in late trade. Arabtec Holding PJSC (DU:ARTC) declined 1.96% or 0.030 points to end at 1.500 and ARAMEX PJSC (DU:ARMX) shed 1.75% or 0.070 points to 3.930.
The top performers on the ADX General were Methaq (AD:METH) which rose 3.45% to 0.900, Rak Properties (AD:RPRO) which was up 1.67% to settle at 0.610 and Eshraq Properties Co PJSC (AD:ESHR) which gained 1.25% to close at 0.8100.
The worst performers were Abu Dhabi National for Building Materials Co PJSC (AD:BILD) which was down 5.77% to 0.490 in late trade, Aldar Properti (AD:ALDR) which lost 1.08% to settle at 2.760 and Rak Ceramics (AD:RKCE) which was down 1.00% to 2.970 at the close.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 20 to 10 and 5 ended unchanged; on the Abu Dhabi, 10 fell and 7 advanced, while 5 ended unchanged on the Dubai Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for October delivery was up 0.96% or 0.43 to $45.26 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in November rose 1.08% or 0.51 to hit $47.77 a barrel, while the December Gold contract fell 0.06% or 0.75 to trade at $1353.25 a troy ounce.
USD/AED was unchanged 0.00% to 3.6730, while EUR/AED fell 0.09% to 4.1313.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.03% at 94.83.
