Investing.com – United Arab Emirates equities were lower at the close on Sunday, as losses in the Consumer Staples, Services and Insurance sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Dubai, the DFM General lost 0.13%, while the ADX General index fell 0.33%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the DFM General were Damac Properties Dubai Co PSC (DU:DAMAC), which rose 3.03% or 0.080 points to trade at 2.720 at the close. SHUAA Capital PSC (DU:SHUA) added 2.72% or 0.040 points to end at 1.510 and AJMAN BANK PJSC (DU:AJBNK) was up 1.69% or 0.020 points to 1.200 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Marka Pjse (DU:MARKA), which lost 8.14% or 0.08 points to trade at 0.88 in late trade. Takaful Emarat PSC (DU:TKFE) declined 6.75% or 0.160 points to end at 2.210 and DXB Entertainments (P.J.S.C.) (DU:DXBE) shed 3.32% or 0.030 points to 0.874.
The top performers on the ADX General were National Bank of Fujairah PJSC (AD:NBF) which rose 14.48% to 3.32, Rak Cement Co (AD:RKCC) which was up 9.09% to settle at 0.840 and Sharjah Cement AD (AD:SCID) which gained 1.00% to close at 1.010.
The worst performers were Agthia Group (AD:AGTH) which was down 6.22% to 5.58 in late trade, Rak Ceramics (AD:RKCE) which lost 3.29% to settle at 2.350 and Ad Natl Energy (AD:TAQA) which was down 3.17% to 0.610 at the close.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 26 to 11 and 3 ended unchanged; on the Abu Dhabi, 11 fell and 6 advanced, while 7 ended unchanged on the Dubai Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for June delivery was up 0.10% or 0.05 to $47.88 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in July rose 0.18% or 0.09 to hit $50.86 a barrel, while the June Gold Futures contract rose 0.37% or 4.50 to trade at $1228.70 a troy ounce.
USD/AED was unchanged 0.00% to 3.6729, while EUR/AED rose 0.65% to 4.0152.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.48% at 99.05.
