Investing.com – Turkey equities were lower at the close on Thursday, as losses in the Telecoms, Services and Food & Beverages sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 fell 0.88%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BIST 100 were GSD Holding AS (IS:GSDHO), which rose 3.33% or 0.020 points to trade at 0.620 at the close. Aselsan Elektronik Sanayi ve Ticaret AS (IS:ASELS) added 3.06% or 0.62 points to end at 20.90 and Deva Holding AS (IS:DEVA) was up 1.90% or 0.080 points to 4.300 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Turkcell Iletisim Hizmetleri AS ORD (IS:TCELL), which lost 7.33% or 0.90 points to trade at 11.38 in late trade. Vestel Elektronik Sanayi ve Ticaret AS (IS:VESTL) declined 5.22% or 0.380 points to end at 6.900 and Tumosan Motor ve Traktor Sanayi AS (IS:TMSN) shed 3.73% or 0.300 points to 7.750.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 179 to 155 and 69 ended unchanged on the Istanbul Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for June delivery was down 1.47% or 18.31 to $1230.19 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in June fell 4.14% or 1.98 to hit $45.84 a barrel, while the July Brent oil contract fell 3.98% or 2.02 to trade at $48.77 a barrel.
USD/TRY was up 0.57% to 3.5550, while EUR/TRY rose 1.42% to 3.9043.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.55% at 98.71.
