Investing.com – Turkey equities were lower at the close on Monday, as losses in the Leasing & Factoring, Metal Products & Machinery and Telecoms sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 declined 0.27%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BIST 100 were Enka Insaat (IS:ENKAI), which rose 6.52% or 0.270 points to trade at 4.410 at the close. Zorlu Enerji (IS:ZOREN) added 4.09% or 0.070 points to end at 1.780 and Turk Hava Yollari (IS:THYAO) was up 3.88% or 0.220 points to 5.890 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Netas Telekomunikasyon AS (IS:NETAS), which lost 3.05% or 0.27 points to trade at 8.58 in late trade. Tekfen Holding (IS:TKFEN) declined 2.59% or 0.20 points to end at 7.53 and Park Elek. Madencilik (IS:PRKME) shed 2.45% or 0.050 points to 1.990.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 165 to 151 and 90 ended unchanged on the Istanbul Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for August delivery was up 0.05% or 0.60 to $1323.00 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in August fell 2.77% or 1.32 to hit $46.32 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract fell 2.73% or 1.34 to trade at $47.70 a barrel.
USD/TRY was up 0.26% to 2.9368, while EUR/TRY fell 0.56% to 3.2383.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.95% at 96.54.
