Investing.com – Turkey equities were lower at the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Telecoms, Holdings & Investments and Information Technology sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 lost 0.21%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BIST 100 were Alarko Holding (IS:ALARK), which rose 11.11% or 0.420 points to trade at 4.200 at the close. Dogan Holding (IS:DOHOL) added 10.67% or 0.080 points to end at 0.830 and Hurriyet Gzt. (IS:HURGZ) was up 6.58% or 0.050 points to 0.810 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Alcatel Lucent Teletas (IS:ALCTL), which lost 10.51% or 0.910 points to trade at 7.750 in late trade. Sabanci Holding (IS:SAHOL) declined 4.20% or 0.39 points to end at 8.89 and Ulker Biskuvi (IS:ULKER) shed 3.03% or 0.57 points to 18.27.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 167 to 163 and 76 ended unchanged on the Istanbul Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for December delivery was up 1.24% or 15.75 to $1290.25 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in December fell 0.87% or 0.39 to hit $44.59 a barrel, while the January Brent oil contract fell 0.93% or 0.43 to trade at $45.61 a barrel.
USD/TRY was up 2.30% to 3.2287, while EUR/TRY rose 1.58% to 3.5380.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.42% at 98.29.
