Investing.com – Turkey equities were lower at the close on Thursday, as losses in the Sports, Textile & Leather and Real Estate Investments sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 lost 0.18%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BIST 100 were Kardemir Karabuk Demir Celik Sanayi ve Ticaret AS Class D (IS:KRDMD), which rose 4.67% or 0.070 points to trade at 1.570 at the close. Afyon Cimento Sanayi TAS (IS:AFYON) added 2.87% or 0.25 points to end at 8.97 and Bizim Toptan Satis Magazalari AS (IS:BIZIM) was up 2.49% or 0.28 points to 11.52 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Netas Telekomunikasyon AS (IS:NETAS), which lost 5.06% or 0.67 points to trade at 12.56 in late trade. Izmir Demir Celik Sanayi AS (IS:IZMDC) declined 3.27% or 0.110 points to end at 3.250 and Galatasaray Sportif Sinai ve Ticari Yatirimlar AS (IS:GSRAY) shed 2.90% or 0.92 points to 30.78.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 223 to 116 and 69 ended unchanged on the Istanbul Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for June delivery was down 0.69% or 8.80 to $1263.20 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in July rose 1.59% or 0.77 to hit $49.09 a barrel, while the August Brent oil contract rose 1.22% or 0.62 to trade at $51.38 a barrel.
USD/TRY was up 0.04% to 3.5293, while EUR/TRY fell 0.19% to 3.9602.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.24% at 97.14.
