Investing.com – Turkey equities were higher at the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Banking, Financials and Information Technology sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 rose 1.17%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BIST 100 were Tesco Kipa (IS:KIPA), which rose 5.77% or 0.090 points to trade at 1.650 at the close. Karsan Otomotiv (IS:KARSN) added 5.66% or 0.060 points to end at 1.120 and Alcatel Lucent Teletas (IS:ALCTL) was up 4.01% or 0.280 points to 7.270 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Metro Holding (IS:METRO), which lost 6.82% or 0.060 points to trade at 0.820 in late trade. Ipek Dogal Enerji (IS:IPEKE) declined 1.26% or 0.030 points to end at 2.360 and Koza Madencilik (IS:KOZAA) shed 1.22% or 0.030 points to 2.430.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 233 to 97 and 77 ended unchanged on the Istanbul Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for December delivery was up 0.58% or 7.25 to $1263.85 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in November rose 0.16% or 0.08 to hit $50.02 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract fell 0.12% or 0.06 to trade at $51.46 a barrel.
USD/TRY was up 0.02% to 3.0964, while EUR/TRY fell 0.03% to 3.4049.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.09% at 97.77.
