Investing.com – Turkey equities were higher at the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Wood, Paper & Printing, Holdings & Investments and Textile & Leather sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 rose 0.48%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BIST 100 were Anadolu Cam (IS:ANACM), which rose 4.66% or 0.150 points to trade at 3.370 at the close. Yazicilar Holding (IS:YAZIC) added 3.97% or 0.84 points to end at 22.00 and Kartonsan (IS:KARTN) was up 3.86% or 10.70 points to 287.70 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Otokar (IS:OTKAR), which lost 1.71% or 2.10 points to trade at 120.60 in late trade. Global Yat. Holding (IS:GLYHO) declined 1.67% or 0.050 points to end at 2.950 and Aksa Enerji (IS:AKSEN) shed 1.30% or 0.040 points to 3.040.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 217 to 114 and 75 ended unchanged on the Istanbul Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for June delivery was down 0.68% or 8.55 to $1249.85 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in May rose 0.47% or 0.24 to hit $51.27 a barrel, while the June Brent oil contract rose 0.55% or 0.30 to trade at $54.47 a barrel.
USD/TRY was up 0.63% to 3.7022, while EUR/TRY rose 0.48% to 3.9466.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.12% at 100.54.
