Investing.com – Sweden equities were higher at the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Telecoms, Financials and Consumer Services sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Stockholm, the OMX Stockholm 30 gained 0.74%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the OMX Stockholm 30 were Telia Company AB (ST:TELIA), which rose 2.13% or 0.79 points to trade at 37.81 at the close. Svenska Handelsbanken ser. A (ST:SHBa) added 1.53% or 1.6 points to end at 106.2 and Volvo, AB ser. B (ST:VOLVb) was up 1.40% or 1.27 points to 91.97 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Fingerprint Cards AB ser. B (ST:FINGb), which lost 1.45% or 1.20 points to trade at 81.55 in late trade. SKF, AB ser. B (ST:SKFb) declined 0.94% or 1.4 points to end at 146.9 and SSAB AB ser. A (ST:SSABa) shed 0.74% or 0.15 points to 20.10.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 323 to 237 and 57 ended unchanged on the Stockholm Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for August delivery was down 1.52% or 0.76 to $49.09 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in August fell 1.60% or 0.81 to hit $49.81 a barrel, while the August Gold contract fell 0.13% or 1.65 to trade at $1270.85 a troy ounce.
EUR/SEK was up 0.36% to 9.3427, while USD/SEK fell 0.08% to 8.2737.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.32% at 93.86.
