Investing.com – Sri Lanka stocks were lower after the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Services, Chemicals & Pharmaceuticals and Footwear & Textile sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Colombo, the CSE All-Share fell 0.44%.
The best performers of the session on the CSE All-Share were PC House PLC (CM:PCHO), which rose 50.00% or 0.100 points to trade at 0.200 at the close. Meanwhile, Hapugastenne Plantations PLC (CM:HAPU) added 20.82% or 5.10 points to end at 29.60 and Tangerine Beach Hotels PLC (CM:TANG) was up 17.30% or 11.80 points to 80.00 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Bimputh Finance PLC (CM:BIMP), which fell 52.98% or 72.10 points to trade at 64.00 at the close. PC Pharma PLC (CM:PCPH) declined 20.00% or 0.10 points to end at 0.50 and Royal Palms Beach Hotels PLC (CM:RPBH) was down 14.06% or 5.40 points to 33.00.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Colombo Stock Exchange by 138 to 82 and 20 ended unchanged.
Shares in PC Pharma PLC (CM:PCPH) fell to all time lows; falling 20.00% or 0.10 to 0.50. Shares in Royal Palms Beach Hotels PLC (CM:RPBH) fell to 52-week lows; losing 14.06% or 5.40 to 33.00.
Crude oil for December delivery was down 1.10% or 0.48 to $43.73 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in January fell 0.52% or 0.25 to hit $47.85 a barrel, while the December Gold contract fell 0.03% or 0.30 to trade at $1088.20 a troy ounce.
GBP/LKR was up 0.12% to 214.775, while USD/LKR fell 0.06% to 141.910.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.14% at 99.12.
