Investing.com – Sri Lanka equities were lower at the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Telecoms, Information Technology and Healthcare sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Colombo, the CSE All-Share fell 0.95%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the CSE All-Share were Ceylon Beverage Holdings PLC (CM:BREW), which rose 22.87% or 148.90 points to trade at 799.90 at the close. Indo Malay PLC (CM:INDO) added 18.75% or 311.00 points to end at 1970.00 and Tea Smallholder Factories PLC (CM:TSML) was up 16.45% or 5.10 points to 36.10 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Central Investments and Finance PLC (CM:CIFL), which lost 14.29% or 0.100 points to trade at 0.600 in late trade. Hikkaduwa Beach Resort Ltd (CM:CITH) declined 10.18% or 1.70 points to end at 15.00 and Amana Takaful PLC (CM:ATL) shed 9.09% or 0.10 points to 1.00.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 152 to 42 and 37 ended unchanged on the Colombo Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for July delivery was down 0.42% or 0.20 to $47.88 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in July fell 0.64% or 0.31 to hit $48.04 a barrel, while the June Gold contract fell 0.83% or 10.35 to trade at $1241.15 a troy ounce.
GBP/LKR was up 0.04% to 212.850, while USD/LKR fell 0.05% to 146.980.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.19% at 95.41.
