Investing.com – Sri Lanka equities were lower at the close on Monday, as losses in the Services, Plantations and Power & Energy sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Colombo, the CSE All-Share lost 0.84% to hit a new 6-month low.
The biggest gainers of the session on the CSE All-Share were Agstar PLC (CM:AGST), which rose 16.00% or 0.80 points to trade at 5.80 at the close. Lanka Ashok Leyland PLC (CM:ASHO) added 10.16% or 107.90 points to end at 1169.90 and Beruwala Resorts PLC (CM:BERU) was up 10.00% or 0.100 points to 1.100 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Indo Malay PLC (CM:INDO), which lost 16.06% or 229.60 points to trade at 1200.00 in late trade. Amana Takaful PLC (CM:ATL) declined 14.29% or 0.100 points to end at 0.600 and Alufab PLC (CM:ALUF) shed 11.92% or 4.10 points to 30.30.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 137 to 54 and 40 ended unchanged on the Colombo Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for March delivery was up 0.04% or 0.02 to $53.85 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in April fell 0.21% or 0.12 to hit $56.69 a barrel, while the April Gold Futures contract rose 0.29% or 3.55 to trade at $1224.35 a troy ounce.
GBP/LKR was up 0.65% to 188.130, while USD/LKR rose 0.58% to 150.640.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.29% at 99.98.
