Investing.com – Sri Lanka equities were higher at the close on Thursday, as gains in the Footwear & Textile, Land & Property and Construction & Engineering sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Colombo, the CSE All-Share gained 0.83% to hit a new 3-month high.
The biggest gainers of the session on the CSE All-Share were PC Pharma PLC (CM:PCPH), which rose 50.00% or 0.1000 points to trade at 0.3000 at the close. Lanka Ashok Leyland PLC (CM:ASHO) added 25.00% or 251.10 points to end at 1255.50 and Multi Finance PLC (CM:MULT) was up 17.21% or 2.10 points to 14.30 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Singer Sri Lanka PLC (CM:SINS), which lost 67.83% or 94.90 points to trade at 45.00 in late trade. SMB Leasing PLC (CM:SEMB) declined 16.67% or 0.1000 points to end at 0.5000 and Central Investments and Finance PLC (CM:CIFL) shed 12.50% or 0.100 points to 0.700.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 140 to 46 and 58 ended unchanged on the Colombo Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for May delivery was up 0.18% or 0.09 to $51.24 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in June rose 0.26% or 0.14 to hit $54.50 a barrel, while the June Gold Futures contract rose 0.50% or 6.25 to trade at $1254.75 a troy ounce.
GBP/LKR was down 0.02% to 189.465, while USD/LKR rose 0.03% to 151.840.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.02% at 100.48.
