Investing.com – Sri Lanka equities were higher at the close on Monday, as gains in the Plantations, Healthcare and Motors sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Colombo, the CSE All-Share gained 0.61% to hit a new 1-month high.
The biggest gainers of the session on the CSE All-Share were Kelani Valley Plantations PLC (CM:KVAL), which rose 24.26% or 12.30 points to trade at 63.00 at the close. Kelsey Developments PLC (CM:KDL) added 12.84% or 6.10 points to end at 53.60 and Galadari Hotels Lanka PLC (CM:GHLL) was up 12.15% or 1.30 points to 12.00 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Bansei Royal Resorts Hikkaduwa Limited (CM:BANS), which lost 11.50% or 1.30 points to trade at 10.00 in late trade. Standard Capital PLC (CM:SING) declined 10.99% or 10.50 points to end at 85.00 and Amana Takaful PLC (CM:ATL) shed 10.00% or 0.100 points to 0.900.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 100 to 74 and 53 ended unchanged on the Colombo Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for November delivery was up 1.00% or 0.48 to $48.72 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in December rose 1.02% or 0.51 to hit $50.70 a barrel, while the December Gold contract rose 0.25% or 3.25 to trade at $1320.35 a troy ounce.
GBP/LKR was down 0.88% to 188.800, while USD/LKR fell 0.54% to 145.970.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.03% at 95.41.
