Investing.com – Sri Lanka equities were higher at the close on Friday, as gains in the Information Technology, Construction & Engineering and Investment Trust sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Colombo, the CSE All-Share gained 0.14% to hit a new 1-month high.
The biggest gainers of the session on the CSE All-Share were Industrial Asphalts (Ceylon) PLC (CM:ASPH), which rose 22.67% or 68.00 points to trade at 368.00 at the close. Ceylon Printers PLC (CM:CPRT) added 9.45% or 7.60 points to end at 88.00 and Alufab PLC (CM:ALUF) was up 7.34% or 3.40 points to 49.70 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Colombo Fort Investments PLC (CM:CFI), which lost 11.11% or 10.00 points to trade at 80.00 in late trade. Colombo Investment Trust PLC (CM:CIT) declined 8.90% or 8.90 points to end at 91.10 and Ramboda Falls PLC (CM:RFLL) shed 6.05% or 1.90 points to 29.50.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 123 to 74 and 49 ended unchanged on the Colombo Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for September delivery was down 0.08% or 0.04 to $48.18 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in October fell 0.22% or 0.11 to hit $50.78 a barrel, while the December Gold contract fell 0.45% or 6.05 to trade at $1351.15 a troy ounce.
GBP/LKR was down 0.13% to 191.160, while USD/LKR fell 0.24% to 145.225.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.30% at 94.39.
