Investing.com – Spain equities were lower at the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Consumer Goods, Consumer Services and Financial Services & Real Estate sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Madrid, the IBEX 35 lost 0.57%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the IBEX 35 were ArcelorMittal SA (MC:MTS), which rose 1.63% or 0.335 points to trade at 20.930 at the close. Mediaset ESP (MC:TL5) added 1.08% or 0.110 points to end at 10.290 and Acerinox (MC:ACX) was up 0.94% or 0.110 points to 11.820 in late trade.
Biggest losers included International Consolidated Airlines Group SA (MC:ICAG), which lost 1.97% or 0.141 points to trade at 7.013 in late trade. Grifols SA (MC:GRLS) declined 1.89% or 0.460 points to end at 23.840 and Mapfre (MC:MAP) shed 1.78% or 0.057 points to 3.141.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 107 to 58 and 20 ended unchanged on the Madrid Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for August delivery was up 0.20% or 2.46 to $1215.66 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in August rose 1.73% or 0.77 to hit $45.17 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract rose 1.64% or 0.77 to trade at $47.65 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.38% to 1.1442, while EUR/GBP rose 0.69% to 0.8911.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.18% at 95.64.
