Investing.com – Spain equities were higher at the close on Thursday, as gains in the Consumer Services, Building & Construction and Financial Services & Real Estate sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Madrid, the IBEX 35 rose 0.53% to hit a new 1-month high.
The biggest gainers of the session on the IBEX 35 were Bankia (MC:BKIA), which rose 3.57% or 0.027 points to trade at 0.783 at the close. Gas Natural (MC:GAS) added 3.05% or 0.565 points to end at 19.070 and International Consolidated Airlines Group S.A. (MC:ICAG) was up 2.73% or 0.123 points to 4.635 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Grifols SA (MC:GRLS), which lost 1.34% or 0.255 points to trade at 18.735 in late trade. Endesa (MC:ELE) declined 0.60% or 0.110 points to end at 18.150 and Viscofan (MC:VIS) shed 0.30% or 0.145 points to 48.845.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 104 to 79 and 24 ended unchanged on the Madrid Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for December delivery was up 0.42% or 5.45 to $1316.85 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in October fell 2.68% or 1.20 to hit $43.50 a barrel, while the November Brent oil contract fell 2.58% or 1.21 to trade at $45.68 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.30% to 1.1191, while EUR/GBP fell 0.73% to 0.8431.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.32% at 95.70.
