Investing.com – Spain equities were higher at the close on Friday, as gains in the Financial Services & Real Estate, Telecoms & IT and Building & Construction sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Madrid, the IBEX 35 gained 0.23%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the IBEX 35 were Cellnex Telecom SA (MC:CLNX), which rose 2.07% or 0.39 points to trade at 18.96 at the close. Caixabank SA (MC:CABK) added 1.75% or 0.072 points to end at 4.190 and Mapfre (MC:MAP) was up 1.42% or 0.045 points to 3.218 in late trade.
Biggest losers included International Consolidated Airlines Group SA (MC:ICAG), which lost 2.67% or 0.183 points to trade at 6.666 in late trade. Mediaset ESP (MC:TL5) declined 1.40% or 0.160 points to end at 11.310 and Indra A (MC:IDR) shed 1.32% or 0.175 points to 13.055.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 87 to 82 and 17 ended unchanged on the Madrid Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for August delivery was down 0.58% or 7.45 to $1272.05 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in July rose 0.72% or 0.33 to hit $45.97 a barrel, while the August Brent oil contract rose 0.88% or 0.42 to trade at $48.28 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.09% to 1.1200, while EUR/GBP rose 0.74% to 0.8799.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.29% at 97.23.
