Investing.com – Poland stocks were lower after the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Construction, Chemicals and Oil & Gas sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Warsaw, the WIG30 fell 1.49%.
The best performers of the session on the WIG30 were Kernel Holding SA (WA:KER), which rose 2.65% or 1.15 points to trade at 44.50 at the close. Meanwhile, Eurocash SA (WA:EUR) added 2.38% or 1.00 points to end at 43.00 and OrangePL (WA:OPL) was up 0.68% or 0.05 points to 7.39 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were PGE Polska Grupa Energetyczna SA (WA:PGE), which fell 6.05% or 0.90 points to trade at 13.98 at the close. Grupa Lotos SA (WA:LTSP) declined 3.96% or 1.15 points to end at 27.92 and mBank SA (WA:MBK) was down 3.59% or 13.15 points to 353.40.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Warsaw Stock Exchange by 341 to 204 and 114 ended unchanged.
Shares in PGE Polska Grupa Energetyczna SA (WA:PGE) fell to all time lows; falling 6.05% or 0.90 to 13.98.
Crude oil for November delivery was down 2.61% or 1.21 to $45.15 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in November fell 1.44% or 0.70 to hit $48.38 a barrel, while the December Gold contract rose 0.53% or 6.00 to trade at $1130.80 a troy ounce.
EUR/PLN was up 0.37% to 4.2191, while USD/PLN rose 0.04% to 3.7795.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.03% at 96.47.
