Investing.com – Poland equities were lower at the close on Friday, as losses in the Media, Telecoms and Chemicals sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Warsaw, the WIG30 declined 1.40%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the WIG30 were CD Projekt SA (WA:CDR), which rose 3.26% or 1.10 points to trade at 34.80 at the close. Tauron Polska Energia SA (WA:TPE) added 1.65% or 0.050 points to end at 3.080 and Globe Trade Centre SA (WA:GTCP) was up 1.00% or 0.07 points to 7.05 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Asseco Poland SA (WA:ACPP), which lost 4.32% or 2.42 points to trade at 53.57 in late trade. Alior Bank SA (WA:ALRR) declined 3.81% or 2.00 points to end at 50.50 and CCC SA (WA:CCCP) shed 3.66% or 6.75 points to 177.75.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 298 to 202 and 204 ended unchanged on the Warsaw Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for September delivery was up 0.46% or 0.19 to $41.33 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in October unchanged 0.00% or 0.00 to hit $43.23 a barrel, while the December Gold contract rose 1.19% or 15.95 to trade at $1357.15 a troy ounce.
EUR/PLN was down 0.12% to 4.3559, while USD/PLN fell 1.04% to 3.8990.
The US Dollar Index was down 1.18% at 95.55.
