Investing.com – Philippines stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Mining & Oil, Industrials and Holding Firms sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Philippines, the PSEi Composite gained 0.57%.
The best performers of the session on the PSEi Composite were Bloomberry Res (PS:BLOOM), which rose 7.97% or 0.680 points to trade at 9.210 at the close. Meanwhile, Globe Telecom (PS:GLO) added 3.19% or 76.000 points to end at 2456.000 and Robinsons Land (PS:RLC) was up 2.35% or 0.650 points to 28.300 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Petron (PS:PCOR), which fell 1.91% or 0.160 points to trade at 8.150 at the close. Megaworld Corp (PS:MEG) declined 1.84% or 0.090 points to end at 4.800 and Sm Prime Hldgs (PS:SMPH) was down 1.21% or 0.250 points to 20.300.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Philippines Stock Exchange by 134 to 47 and 18 ended unchanged.
Shares in Petron (PS:PCOR) fell to 3-years lows; falling 1.91% or 0.160 to 8.150.
Gold for August delivery was down 0.19% or 2.20 to $1153.20 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in August fell 2.30% or 1.20 to hit $51.00 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract fell 2.26% or 1.31 to trade at $56.84 a barrel.
CNY/PHP was up 0.12% to 7.2869, while USD/PHP rose 0.13% to 45.245.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.09% at 96.84.
