Investing.com – Philippines equities were lower at the close on Thursday, as losses in the Holding Firms, Industrials and Mining & Oil sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Philippines, the PSEi Composite lost 0.03%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the PSEi Composite were Bloomberry Resorts Corp (PS:BLOOM), which rose 3.75% or 0.240 points to trade at 6.640 at the close. Jollibee Foods Corp (PS:JFC) added 2.63% or 6.200 points to end at 242.000 and Megaworld Corp (PS:MEG) was up 1.97% or 0.090 points to 4.650 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Robinsons Land Corp (PS:RLC), which lost 3.28% or 1.000 points to trade at 29.500 in late trade. Energy Development Corp (PS:EDC) declined 2.99% or 0.170 points to end at 5.520 and SM Investments Corp (PS:SM) shed 2.81% or 28.000 points to 967.000.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 97 to 92 and 46 ended unchanged on the Philippines Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for August delivery was down 0.51% or 6.75 to $1320.15 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in August fell 1.22% or 0.61 to hit $49.27 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract fell 1.29% or 0.66 to trade at $50.66 a barrel.
CNY/PHP was up 0.24% to 7.0828, while USD/PHP rose 0.17% to 47.100.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.08% at 95.77.
