Investing.com – Philippines equities were higher at the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Industrials, Mining & Oil and Property sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Philippines, the PSEi Composite rose 1.54%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the PSEi Composite were Universal Robina Corp (PS:URC), which rose 6.87% or 11.900 points to trade at 185.000 at the close. Jollibee Foods Corp (PS:JFC) added 4.60% or 10.600 points to end at 241.000 and Alliance Global Group Inc (PS:AGI) was up 3.73% or 0.500 points to 13.900 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Globe Telecom Inc (PS:GLO), which lost 5.49% or 90.000 points to trade at 1550.000 in late trade. PLDT Inc (PS:TEL) declined 1.50% or 22.00 points to end at 1448.00 and San Miguel Corp (PS:SMC) shed 0.12% or 0.100 points to 80.200.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 118 to 64 and 49 ended unchanged on the Philippines Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for December delivery was up 0.45% or 5.75 to $1285.15 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in December rose 0.22% or 0.10 to hit $44.99 a barrel, while the January Brent oil contract rose 0.43% or 0.20 to trade at $46.35 a barrel.
CNY/PHP was up 0.02% to 7.1773, while USD/PHP rose 0.21% to 48.680.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.18% at 97.60.
