Investing.com – Philippines equities were higher at the close on Thursday, as gains in the Banking & Financials, Holding Firms and Services sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Philippines, the PSEi Composite gained 0.90%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the PSEi Composite were Ayala Corp (PS:AC), which rose 2.42% or 19.000 points to trade at 803.000 at the close. JG Summit Holdings Inc (PS:JGS) added 2.19% or 1.650 points to end at 76.950 and PLDT Inc (PS:TEL) was up 1.79% or 25.00 points to 1425.00 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Robinsons Land Corp (PS:RLC), which lost 1.28% or 0.300 points to trade at 23.100 in late trade. Aboitiz Equity Ventures Inc (PS:AEV) declined 0.89% or 0.650 points to end at 72.250 and SM Prime Holdings Inc (PS:SMPH) shed 0.35% or 0.100 points to 28.600.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 111 to 74 and 53 ended unchanged on the Philippines Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for April delivery was down 0.42% or 5.25 to $1244.75 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in April fell 0.32% or 0.17 to hit $53.66 a barrel, while the May Brent oil contract fell 0.12% or 0.07 to trade at $56.29 a barrel.
CNY/PHP was up 0.14% to 7.3212, while USD/PHP rose 0.21% to 50.414.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.17% at 101.91.
