Investing.com – Philippines equities were higher at the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Property, Services and Banking & Financials sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Philippines, the PSEi Composite rose 0.80%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the PSEi Composite were International Container Terminal Services Inc (PS:ICT), which rose 4.53% or 4.450 points to trade at 102.700 at the close. Emperador Inc (PS:EMP) added 3.08% or 0.230 points to end at 7.700 and PLDT Inc (PS:TEL) was up 2.08% or 38.00 points to 1867.00 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Aboitiz Power Corp (PS:AP), which lost 1.38% or 0.55 points to trade at 39.20 in late trade. First Gen Corp (PS:FGEN) declined 0.95% or 0.18 points to end at 18.82 and Jollibee Foods Corp (PS:JFC) shed 0.47% or 1.00 points to 210.00.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 103 to 94 and 49 ended unchanged on the Philippines Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for August delivery was up 0.50% or 6.17 to $1252.57 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in August rose 0.81% or 0.35 to hit $43.73 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract rose 0.96% or 0.44 to trade at $46.48 a barrel.
CNY/PHP was up 0.51% to 7.3685, while USD/PHP fell 0.04% to 50.220.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.40% at 96.72.
