Investing.com – Philippines equities were higher at the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Mining & Oil, Holding Firms and Services sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Philippines, the PSEi Composite added 0.69%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the PSEi Composite were Ayala Corp (PS:AC), which rose 4.28% or 29.500 points to trade at 719.500 at the close. San Miguel Corp (PS:SMC) added 4.01% or 3.850 points to end at 99.850 and LT Group Inc (PS:LTG) was up 3.08% or 0.400 points to 13.400 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Jollibee Foods Corp (PS:JFC), which lost 2.33% or 5.000 points to trade at 210.000 in late trade. GT Capital Holdings Inc (PS:GTCAP) declined 1.64% or 21.000 points to end at 1259.000 and Security Bank Corp (PS:SECB) shed 1.57% or 3.20 points to 200.80.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 96 to 72 and 44 ended unchanged on the Philippines Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for February delivery was up 0.40% or 4.65 to $1163.65 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in January fell 1.09% or 0.58 to hit $52.40 a barrel, while the February Brent oil contract fell 0.90% or 0.50 to trade at $55.22 a barrel.
CNY/PHP was down 0.12% to 7.2110, while USD/PHP rose 0.06% to 49.795.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.02% at 101.06.
