Investing.com – Philippines equities were higher at the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Mining & Oil, Property and Banking & Financials sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Philippines, the PSEi Composite gained 0.39%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the PSEi Composite were Bloomberry Resorts Corp (PS:BLOOM), which rose 6.03% or 0.280 points to trade at 4.920 at the close. SM Prime Holdings Inc (PS:SMPH) added 2.22% or 0.600 points to end at 27.600 and Megaworld Corp (PS:MEG) was up 1.76% or 0.080 points to 4.630 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Aboitiz Equity Ventures Inc (PS:AEV), which lost 2.16% or 1.700 points to trade at 77.100 in late trade. Energy Development Corp (PS:EDC) declined 1.50% or 0.090 points to end at 5.900 and Jollibee Foods Corp (PS:JFC) shed 1.45% or 3.600 points to 245.000.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 115 to 63 and 51 ended unchanged on the Philippines Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for December delivery was down 0.27% or 3.55 to $1326.85 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in November rose 0.58% or 0.26 to hit $44.93 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract rose 0.56% or 0.26 to trade at $46.78 a barrel.
CNY/PHP was up 0.22% to 7.2389, while USD/PHP rose 0.20% to 48.280.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.18% at 95.52.
