Investing.com – Peru stocks were lower after the close on Wednesday, as losses in the S&P Lima Juniors, Food & Beverages and Mining sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Lima, the S&P Lima General fell 0.60% to hit a new 3-years low.
The best performers of the session on the S&P Lima General were Bco Continenta (LM:CON), which rose 2.33% or 0.100 points to trade at 4.400 at the close. Meanwhile, Sider (LM:SID) added 1.67% or 0.003 points to end at 0.183 and Relapasa (LM:REL) was up 1.50% or 0.003 points to 0.203 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Empresa Agroindustrial Pomalca (LM:POM), which fell 10.00% or 0.020 points to trade at 0.180 at the close. Minera Irl (LM:IRL) unchanged 6.15% or 0.00 points to end at 0.06 and Inretail Peru (LM:INR) was down 4.00% or 0.600 points to 14.400.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Lima Stock Exchange by 22 to 8 and 4 ended unchanged.
Shares in Inretail Peru (LM:INR) fell to 52-week lows; down 4.00% or 0.600 to 14.400.
Crude oil for September delivery was unchanged 0.00% or 0.00 to $49.16 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in September fell 1.87% or 1.06 to hit $55.98 a barrel, while the August Gold contract fell 0.97% or 10.70 to trade at $1092.80 a troy ounce.
USD/PEN was up 0.14% to 3.1855, while EUR/PEN rose 0.64% to 3.4744.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.21% at 97.62.
