Investing.com – Peru equities were lower at the close on Thursday, as losses in the S&P Lima Juniors, Mining and Electricity sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Lima, the S&P Lima General declined 0.59%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the S&P Lima General were Aceros Arequip (LM:AREi), which rose 3.92% or 0.020 points to trade at 0.530 at the close. Corporacion Aceros Arequipa SA (LM:ARE) added 3.39% or 0.020 points to end at 0.610 and Sider (LM:SID) was up 2.94% or 0.010 points to 0.350 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Edegel (LM:EDE), which lost 5.77% or 0.150 points to trade at 2.450 in late trade. Panoro (LM:PML) declined 5.00% or 0.007 points to end at 0.133 and Southern Copper Corp (LM:SPC) shed 3.05% or 1.16 points to 36.88.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 16 to 12 and 7 ended unchanged on the Lima Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for April delivery was up 1.47% or 0.79 to $54.38 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in April rose 1.15% or 0.64 to hit $56.48 a barrel, while the April Gold Futures contract rose 1.35% or 16.65 to trade at $1249.95 a troy ounce.
USD/PEN was up 0.04% to 3.2465, while EUR/PEN rose 0.37% to 3.4331.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.34% at 100.97.
